What are you going to do?

As a designer for KLM, you'll be at the forefront of creating cutting-edge digital designs that facilitate conversations with our visitors and users. Working closely with the product teams, you'll identify and solve problems, create new functionalities, and improve current interactions to ensure a consistent user experience. You'll have the opportunity to design for the KLM and Air France brands and explore a range of design forms, including Interaction, Information Architecture, Visual, and Service Design.

This is not a boring desk job. You'll be constantly challenged to think outside the box and come up with innovative design solutions that stand out from the crowd. You'll have the chance to prototype, concept, art direct, and illustrate, all while conducting quantitative and qualitative user research to validate your designs.

Where do you land?

You land in a new department, the Safety, Security & Crisis Management business platform, and you report to the Director of Product. A safe flight operation is essential for KLM. Within this new platform, we create innovative IT solutions in the field of Safety and Security with various product teams. Whether it concerns conflict zones or supporting crisis management in emergencies; IT has become an integral part of our daily operations.

Your profile

You have a demonstrated passion for design, user research and innovation. You have a good understanding of digital ecosystems and know your way around agile. Therefore, you’re confident in working with agile teams that are running at full speed. As a self-starter, you pro-actively reach out to product teams, stakeholders, or other designers for input and alignment. You are exceptionally skilled with stakeholder management. People skills are an important asset in this role. You know how to get people on board, even when they’re hard to convince. You’re prepared with a rationale or a prototype and can bring user insights, facts & figures to the table.
