- As our Data Platform Engineer, you’ll be the technical backbone of the Data Analytics Capability within Schiphol’s core Data, AI & Analytics (DnA) department.
- You will be our bridge to data platform management, architecture, governance, and security, ensuring the right technical foundations for analytics to thrive. You’ll help us grow our “data as a service” mindset beyond our analytics team, enabling business units to explore and sandbox data responsibly, with the right guardrails in place.

As an Analytics Engineer you ensure that data analytics within Schiphol has everything it needs from a technical perspective to continue doing its work seamlessly. You are ready to support and mentor the data analysts on best practices within a well-curated environment. How you achieve results in this? That’s up to you. We trust in the way you can distinguish between main and secondary issues and make connections. You put your talents to work at:
- Maintaining and evolving our existing analytics infrastructure so our analysts have a secure, scalable, and efficient environment.
- Being a trusted mentor and advisor, proactive in problem-solving and finding innovative solutions
- Collaborating closely with data platform engineers, architects, and governance teams to align on technical direction.
- Championing best practices in SQL, Python, Databricks, and Azure-based tooling.
- Building the vision for a future-proof data ecosystem where the wider business can self-serve and innovate safely.
Within your first six months, you will:
- Understand the data needs and ways of working of both the analytics team, our business units and the IT & Security teams.
- Ensure our platforms meet those needs, balancing stability with innovation.
- Lead the migration of the projects of the Analytics teams to an Unity Catalog-enabled Databricks workspace.

Also, you are the talent who works from a certain calmness, order and discipline. In addition, for this position you have:
- Minimum 3 years experience as Platform Engineer, Analytics Engineer or Data Engineer.
- Extensive experience working on the Databricks platform using both PySpark and SQL.
- Experience with managing Azure & Databricks infrastructure, using Infrastructure as Code principles. Terraform is a plus.
- Comfortable with CI/CD pipelines, Azure DevOps or GitHub is a plus
- Strong Proficiency of Python and SQL
- Strong people skills – you mentor, you advice, you connect
- Self-driven in understanding and translating analytics needs into technical requirements

- € 4981 to € 6911 gross per month (Schaal 12).
- A 13th month (year-end bonus).
- The possibility to work 4 x 9 hours in a 36-hour work week.
- An NS Business Card that fully reimburses travel by public transportation to and from work.
