Data & Innovation Lead Solliciteer bij de werkgever
Functieomschrijving

The Data & Innovation unit supports all departments within Security Services (Security Operations, (Cyber) Intelligence, Integrity and Regulations). Together, you will be responsible for:

  • Automating repetitive tasks;
  • Improving analyses and predictive insights;
  • Enabling faster and better-informed decision-making;
  • Driving a shift from reactive to proactive risk management.

What will you do?

As a Data & Innovation expert, you are primarily responsible for enabling data-driven working within one of the other units (Intelligence, Regulations, Operations or Integrity). You will be partially “embedded” in a unit and specialise in that domain, while closely collaborating with the other experts within Data & Innovation to ensure a consistent approach in methods, processes and tooling.

Depending on your profile, the emphasis will be on data analysis, technology/innovation or privacy/facilitation, but at the core you will:

  • Provide data-driven support to security operations;You work with data on, among other things, cyber threats, overflight risks, physical security and integrity cases. You help to identify and interpret these risks and translate them into concrete courses of action for the KLM Group.
  • Make data available and translate it into insights;You unlock and combine both quantitative and qualitative data (including from the KLM cloud) and help units use this data to identify trends, patterns, threats, potential risks and process optimisation opportunities.
  • Enable proactive and predictive security (foresight);You contribute to dashboards, analyses and – where appropriate – predictive models and scenarios, so that Security Services can look ahead instead of only reacting.
  • Drive process improvement and innovation;You ensure that processes across the different units are aligned and propose innovative projects (e.g. new tools, automation, AI applications, decision support tooling). You support the units in the start-up phase, for example by drawing up project and change management plans.
  • Foster a culture of data-driven working and innovation;You help colleagues to use data and tools in a practical way in their daily work. You facilitate sessions, explain analyses in clear language and encourage a culture of learning, experimentation and continuous improvement. You also act as Data Steward for your domain.
  • Safeguard privacy & governance;At least one of the experts will be the primary point of contact for privacy-related questions within Security Services. This colleague helps to draw up privacy assessments, translate GDPR into workable guidelines and safeguard privacy in new initiatives. If this matches your profile, you will work closely with Legal, Compliance and D&T.
  • Work closely with D&T;You work intensively with the D&T platform to access data, tooling and cloud environments, and to jointly deliver sustainable, scalable solutions.

Where do you land?

Security Services consists of five units: Intelligence, Regulations, Operations, Integrity and Data & Innovation. This position is part of the Data & Innovation unit.

The Security Services department provides 24/7 services to ensure the continuity of operations and business processes of the KLM Group by acting both proactively and reactively in response to security threats, risks and challenges, under the motto: Your security, our priority!

Your workplace will be Building 201 at Schiphol-East. You will work at least 3 days a week at this location. On the other days you can, if desired, work from home.

This is a full-time position. Due to the nature of the work, it includes on-call duties outside office hours (on average 24/7 availability once every 4 weeks).

Your profile

You are an expert in data and innovation. You have an affinity with new technologies and security. We are looking for a mix of profiles: data analysts and scientists, tech & innovation profiles, privacy and process profiles.

You also bring:

  • A relevant Bachelor’s or Master’s degree;
  • At least 2 years of experience in a role focused on innovation or data analysis, such as innovation manager or data analyst;
  • Experience in managing change processes, including the development and implementation of new technologies and ways of working within an organisation;
  • Knowledge of privacy regulations, including GDPR, and practical experience in developing and maintaining internal guidelines and processes to safeguard privacy.

  • A good pension scheme and 8% holiday pay;
  • An end of the year bonus of 8,33%;
  • 25 days of paid holiday and 5 extra days off;

Don’t wait any longer and apply for this function before the final boarding call on 04/29/2026! A motivation letter is no longer required; we will simply ask you a couple of questions during your online application. Within two weeks, you will receive a message from us. Your application procedure consists of two interviews and –possibly- an assessment and security research.Did you know that according to research, women are less likely to apply than men when they don't meet all the job requirements? What a shame. Because, in our view, 'the perfect candidate' is a myth. So, if you have the drive to grow in aspects of this role, we look forward to your application.
