What if one incisive question has more impact than a hundred pages of reporting?

At Corporate Control, we believe that the true power of Finance lies not in reporting figures, but in generating insights. As a Senior Finance Business Analyst, you will have a unique position within KLM. You will work at the intersection of Finance, data and strategy, contributing to matters that are important to the entire KLM Group. You will combine analysis with innovation, technology with insight, and expertise with collaboration.

We are therefore looking for someone who remains curious, takes responsibility and brings energy to the team. Someone who enjoys collaborating, sees opportunities to work smarter and is excited about making an impact. Because the best teams are not made up of people who think alike, but of people who bring something new to the table.

What will you do?

No two days are the same. One day, you will dive into analyses that help shape key business decisions; the next, you might build a dashboard, improve a process or contribute to a strategic project.

In this role, you will:

  • Be a driving force behind innovation, digitalisation and automation within Finance;
  • Develop dashboards, reports and data-driven insights using tools such as Power BI;
  • Continuously identify opportunities to make processes smarter, faster and more efficient;
  • Play a key role in the month-end closing process, forecasting, budgeting and strategic five-year planning;
  • Provide analyses and reports for the Board of Directors, Executive Team, Supervisory Board and Air France-KLM stakeholders;
  • Support a wide range of project-based initiatives across the organisation, such as investment analyses, fleet studies and business cases;
  • Translate complex financial information into clear insights and actionable recommendations;
  • Actively contribute to a positive team environment and a culture of continuous improvement.

Where do you land?

You will join the Corporate Control Planning & Reporting team, one of KLM’s most central Finance teams.

From this position, you will gain a unique perspective on the performance of the entire KLM Group and work on financial and strategic matters relevant to the Board of Directors, senior management, and stakeholders across KLM and Air France-KLM. It is a place where today’s figures help shape tomorrow’s decisions.

You will collaborate with colleagues from virtually every part of the organisation, giving you a broad view of the business and plenty of opportunities for professional development.

Our team combines in-depth expertise with an informal working environment. We believe the best results are achieved when people complement one another with different ideas, experiences and perspectives. That is why there is room for initiative, new insights and a fresh perspective—as well as humour, connection and enjoyment at work.

You will report to the Director of Planning & Reporting, Corporate Control, KLM Group.

Your profile

Curiosity comes naturally to you. You want to understand why something happens, rather than simply observe that it does.

Complex challenges energise you. You quickly make connections, are not afraid to ask critical follow-up questions and spot opportunities to work smarter. You enjoy collaborating and know how to bring others on board with new ideas.

You combine financial expertise with an affinity for data, technology and innovation. Whether you are working on an analysis, dashboard or presentation, you know how to convey the right message and can easily switch between details and the bigger picture.

More importantly, you bring something that cannot be captured in a report: new insights, fresh energy, humour and ideas that help advance both the team and the Finance function.

You also meet the following criteria:

  • University-level working and thinking ability, preferably with a degree in Finance, Business Economics, Business Administration or a related field;
  • At least five years of experience in Finance, Controlling or Business Analysis, with a proven ability to translate analyses into insights and action;
  • Knowledge of Power BI or similar business intelligence tools, as well as an interest in data, automation and technological developments;
  • Strong analytical skills and the curiosity to look beyond the figures alone;
  • The ability to make complex information understandable to a range of stakeholders;
  • A strong sense of ownership, a collaborative mindset and the drive to continuously improve;
  • Experience working in a large or complex organisation;
  • Excellent command of English;
  • An RC, RA or comparable professional qualification is an advantage.
