What will you do?The two-year program consists of completing four different assignments including a lot of responsibility. You will gain extensive experience in managing technology, a team and complete a tech-related assignment. You are hereby focusing on the latest technology trends to support business operations and improve our services.
In addition to the assignments, every Friday there is a challenging training program, where we offer you the chance to excel and grow to your full potential.
What kind of assignments can you expect as a Business & Tech management trainee? Here are examples of what you may encounter at Air France-KLM:
Product Manager of an agile team in Cargo
As a product manager, you are responsible for a team that develops new functionalities in Cargo. This is to enhance collaboration with their customers (forwarders) in the sale of Cargo products. This team works according to agile principles and consists of both French and Dutch employees from IT and the Cargo business. Apart from setting up a team, you will be responsible for realizing the first minimum viable product (MVP).
Leading a combined (AF-KL) team
You are responsible for delivering IT products to employees or businesses of Air France and KLM. This together with your team members in Amsterdam, Valbonne, Toulouse, and Paris. Including, the AF-KL Collaboration team, who are responsible for delivering Office 365 solutions such as Microsoft Teams and Office.
Also, new initiatives like Power Platform, a set of tools for rapid and easy application development. In this role, you will learn how to efficiently align IT products with both KLM and Air France and how to manage teams at different locations with all the associated cultural aspects.
Managing the transition of Air France-KLM to the cloud
This time requires faster time-to-market and the flexibility to better respond to the needs of our passengers. To achieve this, we say goodbye to our physical data center and migrating our applications to the cloud. This brings significant changes to our way of working (DevOps). As well as investments in our colleagues' knowledge and training. It will be your task to guide this process with your team, or as part of the transformation program.
Applying Artificial Intelligence
Data is the new oil and plays a growing role in making better decisions. You will be challenged to explore which new AI tools we can use to further optimize our schedule. This involves using data sources both within and outside of Air France-KLM.
Other assignments could include:
• Setting up a new team as a product owner to develop APIs;
• Further development of our successful social media HUB;
• Ensuring a successful rollout of our self-check-in equipment at the kiosks at Schiphol Airport;
• Leading the implementation of a private ChatGPT environment within Air France-KLM;
• Developing a seamless integration of Air France-KLM with Skyteam partners for check-in functionality.

- Round 3: Record a video message based on three questions. You will receive the task on the 18th of October and the deadline is on the 22nd of October.
- Round 4: Selection interview based on your test results, experience, and competencies. These will take place on the 6, 7 and 8th of November. Physical presence is mandatory.
- Round 5: Offline assessment day on the 20th of November. Physical presence is mandatory.
